Maidenhead Synagogue visit Year 2
Maidenhead Synagogue came in to visit Year 2 - Wednesday 10th June
This half-term in Religious Education, the Year 2 children have been exploring where Jewish people worship God.
They’ve been learning about the key features and special objects found in synagogues and Jewish homes. On Wednesday, to bring their learning to life, the children were visited in school by a representative from the Maidenhead synagogue. The children had the opportunity to see these sacred items up close and hear from a member of the Jewish community about how they worship.
The pupils also learnt about Shabbat and were shown how a traditional Shabbat table is set in a Jewish home. They listened attentively as they discovered what makes this weekly ritual so meaningful.
We hope this experience has deepened their understanding and respect for how people of different faiths worship and celebrate their beliefs.
