Waste Week & Great British Spring Clean
Next week is Waste Week in school, and our whole community will be thinking about how we can reduce the amount of waste we produce. Throughout the week, children will take part in activities and discussions about recycling, reusing materials, and making small changes that can have a big impact on our environment.
We are also excited to be taking part in the Great British Spring Clean. This national campaign encourages communities to work together to help keep their local areas clean and tidy.
To finish the week, we will be hosting a Community Litter Pick on Saturday, running from 10am – 2pm. All families are warmly invited to join us at any time during the session. Equipment will be available from the front of school, so you can simply turn up and get involved.
Thank you for supporting our efforts to help children care for their environment.
We look forward to seeing many of you there!

Easter Service
On Tuesday 24th March from 9.45am-10.15am, we would like to invite all families to our Easter Service at All Saints Church.
We would love to fill the church with school families, so please come and meet us at All Saints. The service should start at around 9.45am and last 20 minutes, so it won't take long out of your day!
The Year 2 worship leaders have planned a wonderful service and are looking forward to sharing it all with you.
Thank you very much to those parents who have offered to volunteer to help walk the children to and from the Service.
All children are to wear their full school uniform on Tuesday for the Easter Service

Easter Competitions
Don't forget the Easter Competitions next week!
- All entries to be brought in: Tuesday 24th March and Wednesday 25th March
We would like the children to bring their entries into school on Tuesday 24th March and Wednesday 25th March so that we can judge them and award the winners on Thursday 26thMarch. Please don't bring them in before these dates as we don't have enough space to store them.
We are planning to have an Easter Hat parade on Thursday 26thMarch at which the Year 2 children can show off their Easter Hats to the rest of the school.
The details of the competition for each year's groups are shown below. The categories are:
Reception – Easter Basket
Create an Easter basket using recycled materials and using some of the symbols of Easter that you have been learning about.
Year 1 – Easter Garden
An Easter garden is a traditional way of remembering what happened on Good Friday and usually includes a hill. As the bible says, Jesus was crucified on a hilltop, three crosses, a stone to represent the stone across the entrance to the tomb. Some simple instructions for a garden are shown below.
Year 2 – Easter Hat
An Easter hat is any new hat worn traditionally on Easter Sunday. It is the tail end of an English tradition of wearing new clothes for Easter and is in keeping with the spirit of renewal and redemption at this time of the year.
For our Easter hats, we would like you to take the theme of renewal further by reusing and recycling materials for your hat.

Lost Property
Please check the lost property tub located at the school entrance by the Easter holidays. There are lots of lost items, sadly, with no names on them for items to be returned. Any unclaimed items after Easter will be donated to charity or given to the PFA for their pre-loved uniform sale.

Library Books
Due to a stock check taking place in the library over the Easter holidays, children will need to bring their library books in as normal for their library days next week but will not be taking one home with them. This will be today for the Reception children, and they will therefore not come home with a library book.

Lexia
For those children that attend Lexia, there will be no Lexia sessions next week. A letter will come out about the new term dates by the end of the first week back.

Drawing Competition!
The Art Councillors have had a meeting and decided to run a drawing competition over the Easter Holidays!
Each year group will be given a simple doodle to take home to turn it into an artistic masterpiece!
Be creative and bold without forgetting to put your name and class at the top.
The winner of each year group will win a large bag of craft!!
This is completely optional, but the drawings have to be back in school by Friday 24th April 2026 to be within a chance of winning!

Marlow Town Regatta and Festival Schools Concert
We have the opportunity again this year to join with other Marlow primary schools to sing at the Regatta Festival on Sunday 14th June. It is a lovely event that children remember for years to come.

We would love, once again, to have a large number of children representing the school on this weekend of festivities. If you would like your child to be involved, please could you fill in the attached form. Initially, the rehearsals will start after Easter within hymn practice time with Mrs Downing. Later in the term, Sheila WIlson, the composer of the songs and the schools' coordinator, will be coming into school to practice with those children who have signed up.
I hope many of you will be able to join in this lovely family event.
