In school this week

This week in school has been, as expected, all about Easter.

On Tuesday, the Year 2 worship leaders led us in a superb Easter service at All Saints Church. They should be proud of how confidently they spoke and remembered what to do and when. They didn't really need me there at all!

Our celebration of Indonesian culture was amazing. The Year 1 children performed their puppet show with enthusiasm and skill! They have thoroughly enjoyed their time with Aris Daryono and definitely benefited from his input on their topic about Java. My thanks go to the Year 1 team who put the show together and to the parents who helped with cooking and setting up the hall. The learning for the children from this topic has been huge and was not limited to creating shadow puppets, playing Gamelan instruments and writing their own version of a traditional Indonesian tale.

As always, our staff team have been amazing this term. They have not only made sure that the children are able to have inspiring and challenging learning opportunities, but they have been true to the school vision, making sure that all children are included and have been incredible in the support they have been given.

As we take a break from school for a couple of weeks, I hope that all our school families enjoy the time away from the school routine and are able to have a good rest. I would like to wish you all a very happy Easter.

Waste Week & Great British Spring Clean

This week was Waste Week in school, where the children took part in activities and discussions about recycling, reusing materials, and making small changes that can have a big impact on our environment.

To finish the week, we will be hosting a Community Litter Pick on Saturday, running from 10am – 2pm. All families are warmly invited to join us at any time during the session. Equipment will be available from the front of school, so you can simply turn up and get involved.

Thank you for supporting our efforts to help children care for their environment.

We look forward to seeing many of you there!

Parking near school

Please could parents make sure that they don't park in front of neighbours' drives at the beginning and end of the school day. We have heard from some neighbours that this has been happening more frequently recently, which is frustrating for them as it restricts access to their houses/flats.

For the safety of our children, families and local neighbours, please also do not park on the pavements.

Science Home Learning

The Science home learning for the Easter break for each class is now loaded onto Google Classrooms.  Each activity is an exciting investigation designed to develop observational and questioning skills. It is expected that all children complete this home learning.

Class Home Pages

The class home pages for the first half of the summer term are now live on the school website. All you need to do is to log in here to access information about the next half-term's curriculum for your child's class and some links on how to support your child with their learning at home.

Drawing Competition!

The Art Councillors had a meeting last week and decided to run a drawing competition over the Easter Holidays!

Each year group have been given a simple doodle to take home to turn it into an artistic masterpiece!

Children should be creative and bold when completing their entry for this competition but they  need to remember to put their name and class at the top.

The winner of each year's group will win a large bag of craft!!

This is completely optional, but the drawings have to be back in school by Friday 24th April 2026 to be within a chance of winning!

Art Councillors – School Charter Display Board

The Art Councillors have an important job to do over the Easter break! Our School Charter display board needs updating and the councillors have been asked to organise this.

Mrs Mitchell met with the Councillors earlier this week and looked at different options for the board. They took a vote on some alternative designs. The one they chose was a jigsaw design.

Mrs Mitchell has sent home with each art councillor a large piece of paper showing a blank jigsaw piece. Please can these be decorated colourfully and bought back into school by Friday 17th April so that we can add them to our new display!

Marlow Town Regatta and Festival Schools Concert

We have the opportunity again this year to join with other Marlow primary schools to sing at the Regatta Festival on Sunday 14th June. It is a lovely event that children remember for years to come.

We would love, once again, to have a large number of children representing the school on this weekend of festivities. If you would like your child to be involved, please could you fill in the attached form. Initially, the rehearsals will start after Easter within hymn practice time with Mrs Downing. Later in the term, Sheila WIlson, the composer of the songs and the schools' coordinator, will be coming into school to practice with those children who have signed up.

I hope many of you will be able to join in this lovely family event.
