One Can Trust
Harvest time is all about being thankful for what we have, and we will be talking to the children about this in school. Helping and sharing with others is a good way of showing how thankful we are, and so we will be supporting One Can Trust (High Wycombe) over the Harvest period. One Can Trust works with organisations, including Buckinghamshire Council to provide weekly food parcels to those who need their help.
We will be collecting items for One Can Trust from Monday 5th October for our Harvest offering.
There will be boxes out at drop-off and pick-up all week. Please see below their priority list of items. If every child could bring in one tin or packet, then we would have 160 items to donate to One Can Trust, which would have a big impact. We will send out another reminder closer to the time.
One Can Trust has a list of their most wanted items which you can see below.

Free School Meals: Have You Checked If Your Child Is Eligible?
Did you know that your child may be entitled to Free School Meals (FSM), even if they are already receiving Universal Infant Free School Meals?
All children in Reception, Year 1 and Year 2 currently receive a free school meal as part of the Universal Infant Free School Meals scheme. However, families who meet certain eligibility criteria are encouraged to register for Free School Meals as this provides additional benefits for both your child and the school.
What are the benefits?
If your child is eligible for Free School Meals:
- Your child will continue to receive free school meals when they move into Key Stage 2, provided they remain eligible under the government scheme.
- The school receives additional government funding, known as Pupil Premium, which helps us provide extra support, resources and opportunities for children.
- Families may also be eligible for additional support, such as help with school trips, clubs, music tuition or holiday activity programmes, depending on local arrangements.
Who may be eligible?
You may be able to claim Free School Meals if you receive certain benefits, including:
- Universal Credit (with qualifying earnings thresholds)
- Income Support
- Income-based Jobseeker's Allowance
- Income-related Employment and Support Allowance
- The guaranteed element of Pension Credit
- Child Tax Credit (subject to income limits and not receiving Working Tax Credit)
Why is it important to register?
Even though infant-aged children already receive a free meal, registering for FSM ensures that the school receives valuable funding that can make a real difference to children's learning and wellbeing. This funding helps us provide additional teaching support, interventions, enrichment activities and resources for pupils who need them most.
How to apply
The application process is quick, simple and confidential. If you think you may be eligible, please contact the school office, who will be happy to help you find the correct application process.
If you are unsure whether you qualify, we encourage you to apply anyway. Many families are surprised to discover that they are eligible.

Individual school photographs

Following the school photos that took place on Thursday 10th September, your child should have brought home a slip with a QR code with how you can order these photos. These photos are now live to order on the website, and are available for ordering until Friday 2nd October.

Home Learning – Microsoft Teams
Optional Home Learning is posted on Microsoft Teams each week on a Friday. Every child in the school will have a new login this year.
The email containing the login details should now have been received by all parents/carers. Year 1 & 2 Home Learning began last Friday and Reception starts today.
Now that all years are live on Microsoft Teams for Home learning, this should mean everyone should now be able to sign in successfully.

Harvest Festival
- Date: Thursday 1st October
We will be holding our Harvest Festival service twice in school, one at 9.00am-9.30am and the other at 2.30pm-3.00pm. The service will be led by Year 2 worship leaders and each year group will be singing a song as part of the service.
In the past, this has always been a very popular service and, as space in our school hall is limited, we have had to hold the service twice to accommodate everyone who wished to attend.
We would like to ask all parents who would like to attend this service to book a session.

Curriculum Information Sessions
During this half-term, we will be holding information sessions for parents and carers. There will be a session for each year group. The aim of the sessions is to give you an overview of the curriculum for the year, including what children will be learning in maths and English, how the subjects will be taught and what assessments will be undertaken. Ideas for how you can support your children at home will also be shared.
All sessions start at 7.00pm and the dates for the sessions are as follows:
Year 1 – Monday 21st September
Year 2 – Monday 28th September
You can sign up for your year group session in the relevant section below.

Sandygate Sunday
- Date: Sunday 27th September 11.00am-12 noon
Once a term, we are invited to take part in the 10.59 service at All Saints Church. Some of our pupils will read prayers they have written, and we lead the congregation in one of the songs we sing in school.
All Sandygate families are welcome to come along to the service. We ask that children wear their red jumpers/cardigans to identify them as Marlow Infant pupils. They should sit with their family during the service and the school staff in church will invite them up at the appropriate times.
Please click here to let us know if your child can attend

All Saints Community Fun Day
- Date: Sunday 27th September
The All Saints team will be holding a fun-filled event to which all our school families are invited. There will be lots of activities to enjoy and refreshments provided. There is a leaflet containing full details at the bottom of the newsletter.
